FAQ

Q. What types of lodging do you offer?
A. We offer only cabins rentals at this time as our yearly RV sites are currently full. Our standard cabins sleep 4 and our Lodge sleeps 6.   


Q. How are your cabins equipped?
A. Each standard cabin has a combination of xl twin size bunk beds and double/full size beds. The standard cabins feature a private bathroom, a kitchenette with compact refrigerator, k cup brewer, dishes, silverware and utensils, induction burner for cooking and a microwave. Each cabin is also equipped with 32" TV & digital cable, an outdoor charcoal grill, picnic table and a fire ring. Our cabins have covered front porches with two outdoor chairs.  Linens are not provided in standard cabins. Only the fitted sheet is provided for each bed. The maximum capacity for a standard cabin is 4 adults.  


Our Lodge has two bedrooms with a total of 6 beds, living area with seating, kitchen with full size refrigerator, microwave, two burner cooktop, toaster, toaster oven, k cup brewer and 12 cup coffee maker, dining table, silverware, dishes and cookware, a 32" TV with digital cable, 20" bedroom TV with digital cable, large covered porch with four chairs, outdoor charcoal grill, fire ring, and picnic table.  The Lodge has a private bathroom with standard shower.  The Lodge is handicap accessible. Basic linens and towels are provided in the Lodge. The maximum capacity for the Lodge is 6 adults. 


We provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and hand soap in all cabins. We also provide a moderate supply of k cups and coffee condiments in the Lodge.


Q. What amenities do you offer?
A. We offer cable TV and WiFi in all cabins. Phone service is available to our guests at no charge at the store during business hours. Outdoing calls can be made directly from your cabin through Amazon Echo.


Q. What do I need to bring for a cabin stay?
A. You will need to bring your linens (sheets/blankets or bedroll, towel and wash cloths, pillows, etc.) personal items and toiletries (ex. soap, toothpaste, medications, etc.) for a stay in our standard cabins. We only supply the bottom/fitted sheet on each bed in our standard cabins.
Basic linens are provided in the Lodge (one per guest: sheet set, pillow, blanket, towel, wash cloth). Fire rings and stationary charcoal grills are provided for your use but you will need to provide your own firewood and charcoal. Firewood can be purchased onsite. You may want to bring a cooler. Ice can be purchased at the store. Other recommended items: bag chairs, first aid supplies, medications, basic tools, tire plugs, etc. for trail fixes

Q. Do you allow pets?
Our store and garage are pet friendly but pets are not allowed in cabins.

Q. How close is Wild Willy's to the trails?

We are centrally located on the Indian Ridge Trail system, which is the central area for accessing the southern trail systems. The closest trail access is located at the end of our dead end road, approximately 1/4 mile from our cabins. This trail access point is Indian Ridge trail #16. From our location you can access Indian Ridge, Pinnacle Creek, Pocahontas and Warrior trail systems, as well as countless local trails. There are multiple trail access points very close by and you do not need to trailer to ride any of the 4 Hatfield McCoy Trail systems or local trails. Our location is unique in that if offers access to multiple trail systems without back-tracking or riding the same route every day to reach something new. 


Q. Do you sell Hatfield McCoy trail permits?
A. Hatfield McCoy Trail Permits can be purchased in our store. The costs are: $50 for non-WV residents, $26.50 for WV state residents and military members. Military members and veterans lodging with us for 2 or more nights are eligible for a FREE trail permit compliments of Wild Willy's ATV Rezort. Must be eligible for HMT military discounted permit. Appropriate ID is required. Hatfield McCoy Trails merchandise and souvenirs can also be purchased in our store.


Q. Will my cell phone work at Wild Willy's?
A. Some cell providers do not offer reliable service in our area. Additionally, service can be spotty due to the terrain. AT&T has reliable coverage in our area as well as some other providers. Verizon is not as reliable in our immediate area. 


Q. What if I forget something?
A. We will be happy to assist you in any way possible. If you find you have forgotten something necessary for your stay, please come see us at the store and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. 


Q. What if my atv breaks down during my stay?
A. Wild Willy's ATV Rezort has a garage onsite and is able to assist you in the event of a breakdown. For repairs, we can usually assist you onsite.  We stock a large inventory of parts for popular atv/utv models, atv/utv tires, as well as fluids and accessories.  Guests of Wild Willy's ATV Rezort receive preferential garage privileges and discounted pricing on labor.

  

Q.  Are gas stations, restaurants and stores nearby?
The closest gas and wash station is located about 1.5 miles from our site. The closest restaurant in located at the Ashland Company Store, approximately 1.5 miles away.  Wrong Turn Pizza & Subs is located approximately 5 miles away.  There are also 2 gas stations in Northfork/Keystone, located about 5-6 miles from Wild Willy's. Northfork also has a Family Dollar store, pharmacy and a take-out restaurant - Spencer's.  Spencer's is open Thursday-Saturday.  Additionally, there are 2 local bars in our area (weekend hours), Outlaw Bar & Grill and Riders Paradise. Both are accessible by ATV.


There are additional restaurant options, gas and etc. in Bramwell, WV (located on the Pocahontas Trail) and in Pineville & Mullins (located on the Pinnacle Creek Trail) and Welch & War (located at the Warrior trail).  All communities located at the Hatfield McCoy Trails are atv friendly and you can ride your atv's into these communities.  ATV routes and parking areas (where applicable) are clearly indicated with signage.  We will provide you with specific information about these options when you arrive, and staff is onsite to assist you throughout your stay.


Q.  Where can I purchase groceries?
A.  The closest full service grocery stores are located in Bluefield and Princeton, WV, approximately 25 miles before arriving at our site.  These towns will be your last stop for groceries before arriving at Wild Willy's.  Family Dollar in Northfork offers drinks, bread, milk, eggs, snacks and other staple  grocery items. Grants IGA on HWY 52 just outside of Bluefield is the last full-service grocery store you will pass on your way to our location.


Q.  What type of gear should I bring?
A.  We recommend clothing for all types of weather:  jacket, boots, rain gear, gloves. WV weather can vary at all times of the year. Helmets are required on Hatfield McCoy Trails.  Eye protection is recommended.  We also strongly recommend you give your machine a thorough inspection to insure your brakes, tires, bearings, bushings, etc. are in good condition before arriving. Other items you may want to bring are:  cooler, bag chairs, tire plugs, first aid supplies and snacks. Our trail systems are located in remote, rural areas and shopping options are limited.
